Despite covid restrictions and a postponed wedding reception our couple chose to have a backyard wedding filled with boho floral designs and immediate friends and family.
Making the difficult decision to postpone their wedding.
I remember the conversation with Stacie and Robin very well. It was one of the hardest conversations I’ve had to have to date in my career. Covid really in my mind has tested our couples very early on in their marriage. But as we talked though things I think we really came up with a decision that felt comfortable for Stacie and Robin. Ultimately they decided to cancel their wedding but with a twist.
The wedding is still on
After chatting it over we really liked the idea of holding a small ceremony and reception in their backyard with their immediate family. Michael and I visited their home. We felt it was absolutely perfect to host a small intimate backyard wedding.
The crew behind their back yard wedding was perfect. For catering they chose Bubbakoo’s Burritos . Cheyanna De Nicola as their photographer. Bombshell Hair + Beauty Bar for Stacies hair and Jenna O’Reilly for her makeup.
The couples contributions
Stacie and Robin decided to create pieces to help enhance their wedding day and specifically the ceremony. Stacie hand made her macrame ceremony back drop and her now husband Robin created the octagon ceremony arbor. These two pieces combined with the dried floral decor and pampas grass plumes really elevated the day. We all had a sort of pinch me moment reminding us that we were in a backyard, but it truly did not feel like it at all.
Boho designs perfect for a June wedding
Stacie and Robin really love pampas grass and neutral toned decor. So we went all out boho with large plumes of pampas grass and stalks of bunny tail and preserved bits throughout each floral design. The effortless feel of these floral designs makes the energy of the space so laid back and cozy.
Love always finds a way
When all the odds were against them, our couple dove into the unknown and hoped for the best. The day turned out to be exactly what they envisioned. Surrounded by their family and of course Rosie their pup and the neighbors too. The bottom line is LOVE always finds a way and even if we cant see it in the moment everything always has a way of working itself out as it should.
